Our Hot and Cold Massage course will enable you to use hot stones, cold stone and semi-precious gem stones to deliver a full body massage treatment including back massage, arm and leg massage and face massage.

Capture the power of mother earth and its healing stones and shift stress and tension in your clients with this amazing treatment. Stone massage is often called the queen of holistic treatments due to its amazing effects that the clients feel days after they have been to a therapist.

Delivered by experienced tutors who know the power of energy therapies, this treatment is best learnt properly and in its entirety e.g. using basalt stones, marble stones and chakra stones rather than just use of basalt stones only. We pride ourselves in offering this training to you helping you to learn about these different stones and using them in your treatments be it body massage, foot massage, facial or hand massage. You will also learn how to manage, monitor and maintain your tools and equipment.

What this course covers

This is an excellent course for adding more earning potential. A Hot and Cold Massage treatment costs on average around £50-60 per hour. You will be able to make your training cost back in 3 treatments.

This one day course will cover:

History of Stone massage and benefits
How and when to use Basalt Stones, Marble Stones and semi-precious chakra stones
How to deliver classical massage movements with stones and use new techniques specific to stone massage
Contraindications
Consultation, client records and treatment plan
Responsibilities of Massage Professional and Professional Indemnity Insurance
Hygiene and sterilisation
Equipment requirements and safe delivery of the treatment
Homecare and aftercare advice

You don’t need to bring anything for this course. You may pre order the stone kit and pick it up on the day. If you have any allergies please bring appropriate oil for massage. Learners need to be in good health to attend this course.

What QUALIFICATION WILL YOU RECIEVE?

Affable Therapy Training Diploma will help to obtain professional indemnity insurance and to start taking clients for this therapy. The course is accredited with the Guild of Beauty and Holistic Therapies.

Course ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You need to be a qualified level 3 or above massage therapist to be able to attend this course.
Detailed knowledge of anatomy is necessary to safe deliver of techniques learnt on this course.

examination

There are no exams in this course. The assessment is done on tutor observation.
Upon successful completion you will receive your certificate at the end of the course.

Progression

Once you acquire the qualification of Hot and Cold Massage, you can progress to:

Warm Bamboo Massage Diploma
Deep Tissue Massage Diploma
Level 3 Certificate in Stone Therapy NVQ (ask us when you attend the course)

Our Croydon venue has many parking facilities near by, closest being Nation Car Parks Plc situated in the Whitgift Centre or Central Shopping Centre Parking for other venues varies. Details are provided in your enrollment email regarding parking.

At Affable Therapy Training Limited, we do training in small groups of 6 or 8 students. The course structure is well thought out and delivered by experienced and enthusiastic tutors. We are confident that you will be able to learn the technique in one day. Our manuals are detailed and are excellent reference sources when you leave the class to remind you of the techniques. However, if you feel that you need to repeat the course for any reason, you can do so at no extra cost subject to availability.

First of all congratulations! You can attend some courses such as waxing, facial, manicure, pedicure, eyelash extension, threading etc., which are not intensively based on massage. For other courses which are more for full body or are heavily massage based, we would request you to either get a permission from your midwife / GP or bring a model to work on. This is because in UK the legislation is very clear only qualified medical professionals can work on a pregnant client. For another learner to work on you during the course, they need permission from your qualified medical professional e.g. midwife or GP. Also we will need to assign a qualified pregnancy massage specialist tutor to the course that you will be joining so let us know at the time of enrolment. We recommend that you wait for the first trimester to be over before deciding to do any training course

Yes. Upon successful completion of any of our accreditation courses you can obtain public liability insurance and offer your services the public for a fee. We are passionate about you starting to make a return on the investment you have made in yourself by choosing to train with us and will help you with business advice. Please note introductory courses are for use on friends and family and come with a certificate of attendance only.
