What this course covers

Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment Award Level 3 VTCT

This course aims to to develop your knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of assessment.

You will complete the Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment Award Level 3 VTCT course. The theory will be delivered via course book and guide. Learners are required to study each chapter and send in follow up questions to assigned tutor. Learner will be required to do written assignments and micro teach for a batch of minimum 5-6 learners.

Learners have one year from the date of enrolment to finish the qualification. However we know from experience that learners usually finish it in 3 to 6 months.

We also understand that learners learn differently therefore course material is delivered in various ways, e.g. PowerPoint presentation, group work, detailed course manual with diagrams, other activities to keep learners engaged throughout the day. What QUALIFICATION WILL YOU RECIEVE?

The course is accredited with Vocational and Charitable Trust (VTCT) and is mapped on the national qualification framework.

Course ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners need to have a good understanding of written and spoken English
To have access to computer and internet
Enthusiasm to learn and practice massage
Devote 10 hrs per week to home study studies while on the course
Need to have at least level 3 in their chosen specialism
Need to have been teaching so that practical observations can be carried out at place of work while the learner is assessing. (If you don’t have opportunities to assess, we may be able facilitate this with additional fees please enquire at the time of booking)

At Affable Therapy Training Limited, we do training in small groups of 6 or 8 students. The course structure is well thought out and delivered by experienced and enthusiastic tutors. We are confident that you will be able to learn the technique in one day. Our manuals are detailed and are excellent reference sources when you leave the class to remind you of the techniques. However, if you feel that you need to repeat the course for any reason, you can do so at no extra cost subject to availability.

First of all congratulations! You can attend some courses such as waxing, facial, manicure, pedicure, eyelash extension, threading etc., which are not intensively based on massage. For other courses which are more for full body or are heavily massage based, we would request you to either get a permission from your midwife / GP or bring a model to work on. This is because in UK the legislation is very clear only qualified medical professionals can work on a pregnant client. For another learner to work on you during the course, they need permission from your qualified medical professional e.g. midwife or GP. Also we will need to assign a qualified pregnancy massage specialist tutor to the course that you will be joining so let us know at the time of enrolment. We recommend that you wait for the first trimester to be over before deciding to do any training course
